Bandol
Bandol is a Provence appellation, in the Var, famous for its ageworthy reds built on mourvèdre, which must make up at least fifty percent of the blend, completed by grenache and cinsault. The vines rise in dry stone terraces facing the Mediterranean, on a microclimate favourable to the slow ripening of this demanding grape. The appellation also produces highly regarded structured rosés and a few whites.
