Belgian 3-star Michelin gastronomy 2024

['Belgian three-star restaurants']

Belgian 3-star Michelin gastronomy designates the highest level of the Michelin Guide classification (worth the journey). In 2024, two Belgian restaurants simultaneously hold this distinction: Hertog Jan, opened in 2005 by Gert De Mangeleer in Zedelgem near Bruges, and Fine Fleur in Antwerp, opened in 2023 by the same chef (Michelin Guide Belgium, 2024). This is the first time since Bruneau (Brussels, 2002) that a Belgian chef simultaneously holds two competing 3-star establishments. A notable point: Hertog Jan lost and then regained its third star during its 2018 relocation, an exceptional configuration in Guide history.

Hospitality context
Hertog Jan and Fine Fleur do not include in-house accommodation. Neighbouring premium hotels (Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp for Fine Fleur, Hotel Heritage Bruges for Hertog Jan) sell dinner-overnight-breakfast packages with private shuttle, ranging from 850 to 1,400 euros per couple.
