Belgian natural thermal spa designates an establishment using mineral groundwater recognised by the Royal Academy of Medicine or accredited by the Walloon Region for its therapeutic properties. Belgium counts two historically active facilities: the Thermes de Spa (pouhon spring) and the Thermes de Chaudfontaine, the country's only naturally hot thermal spring at 36.6 degrees Celsius. Most other Belgian wellness complexes use reheated non-mineral water. A notable point: Chaudfontaine has supplied Belgium's sole bottled hot thermal water production since 1676 (Visit Belgium officiel, 2026).
