Bell boy / Bellhop
The bell boy (also called bellhop, bellman, or porter) is the uniformed staff member who carries your luggage from the car or lobby to your room. After unloading bags, they typically show you around the room, pointing out the air conditioning control, safe, minibar, room service menu, and how to use the lighting. Tipping is expected almost everywhere except Japan: in the US, $2-5 per bag is standard; in Europe, €1-2 per bag; in the Middle East and Caribbean resorts, $5 per bag. Tip when bags arrive at the room, in cash, ideally small bills. They'll remember you for the rest of your stay.
