Cacao ceremony

A cacao ceremony is a Mesoamerican ritual using ceremonial-grade cacao (pure, unsweetened cacao paste) as a heart-opening plant medicine. Conducted by a trained facilitator, the ceremony lasts 2-4 hours and combines drinking warm ceremonial cacao (40-60g per person, often spiced with chili and cardamom), guided meditation, music, and group sharing. The cacao's natural compounds (theobromine, anandamide) create a mild euphoric and emotionally open state. What to expect at premium wellness resorts in Tulum, Bali, Costa Rica, or Portugal: a small group setting (8-20 people), comfortable clothing, no alcohol for 24 hours before, light food during the day. Cost: 80-250 EUR per person. Tell the facilitator about any heart conditions, medications, pregnancy, or caffeine sensitivities, cacao is a strong stimulant.
