Cellar vibrations
Cellar vibrations are the repeated tremors passed to bottles by a mechanical source, such as a compressor, a busy road or a household appliance. They are held to disturb the slow process of maturation by agitating sediment and preventing the wine from settling. The best-designed cellars insulate bottles from any vibrating source, alongside light and temperature swings, in order to preserve a calm and undisturbed ageing environment.
