Champagne serving temperature
Champagne serving temperature generally lies between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius. Young, lively cuvees suit the lower end, while complex, vinous vintages reveal more nuance around 10 to 12 degrees. Serving too cold freezes the bouquet and sharpens the effervescence, whereas a temperature that runs too high strips the finesse from the bubbles. An ice bucket combining water and ice holds the bottle steady at the right degree throughout the meal.
