Chorus

A large ensemble of singers who intervene collectively in an opera, embodying anonymous characters such as the people, soldiers or courtiers. The chorus amplifies dramatic moments, comments on the action and structures the great crowd scenes. Its sonic power is among the most arresting effects of the lyric art. It animates the operas proposed within the cultural programming offered to palace guests, lending grandeur and weight to the stage.
