Claridge's

Claridge's is a Mayfair palace hotel in London that took its present name in 1856 after William and Marie Claridge acquired it. Queen Victoria visited in 1860 to see Empress Eugénie of France. Bought in 1893 by Savoy owner Richard D'Oyly Carte, the building was rebuilt and reopened in 1898. Its Art Deco redesign by Oswald Milne around 1929 earned it the title of Mayfair's Art Deco jewel.
