Enfleurage

A traditional, labour-intensive extraction method, now extremely rare, reserved for delicate flowers such as jasmine or tuberose. The petals are laid on a layer of fat that slowly absorbs their scent, forming a pomade later washed with alcohol. A witness to the perfumer's craft of Grasse, enfleurage symbolises the heritage savoir-faire claimed by luxury houses.
