Graves

Graves is a regional appellation on the left bank of the Garonne, south of Bordeaux, taking its name from its characteristic gravel soils. It produces red wines based on cabernet sauvignon and merlot as well as dry whites from sauvignon and sémillon. It is one of the oldest Bordeaux vineyards, the historic cradle of the city's wine, whose northern part now forms the Pessac-Léognan appellation.
