A guest chef is a visiting culinary professional, typically a Michelin-starred or internationally acclaimed chef, invited to cook at a hotel restaurant for a limited period, ranging from a single dinner to two weeks. This is one of the best ways to experience world-class cooking outside the chef's home restaurant. What to expect: a special menu (often a tasting format) designed for the occasion, premium pricing (typically 200-600 EUR), and often a meet-and-greet with the chef during or after dinner. Booking opens 4-12 weeks ahead and high-profile guest chefs sell out within hours. Practical tip: follow the hotel and chef on Instagram for announcements. Dietary accommodations are usually possible but require advance notice.
