Hammam architecture

The spatial arrangement of the Islamic steam bath, organised as a progressive sequence of cold, warm and hot rooms, crowned by domes pierced with oculi that filter light into beams. Marble, tadelakt and niches structure these spaces devoted to the ritual of purification. Hammam architecture, inherited from Roman and Byzantine baths, inspires the heritage spas of Eastern and Moroccan palace hotels, where the bathing sequence is faithfully recreated.
