Dynasties hôtelières
Henry Ruhl
Henry Ruhl, a Belle Époque hotelier, had the Hotel Ruhl built in Nice on the site of the former Hôtel des Anglais. Entrusted to architect Charles Dalmas, the palace was completed in 1913 at 1 Promenade des Anglais. An emblem of Riviera opulence in the 1920s, it welcomed figures such as Hemingway and Fitzgerald before its demolition in 1970.
