Kösk

An Ottoman pleasure pavilion, usually open or semi-open, built in palace gardens or at privileged viewpoints. The kösk, the origin of the word kiosk, served as a place of relaxation and open-air reception. The Çinili Kösk at Topkapi Palace, dressed with Iznik tiles, offers a celebrated example. These pavilions grace the gardens of Turkish heritage hotels, providing shaded vantage points over grounds and water.
