Last Word

The Last Word refers to a cocktail of equal parts gin, maraschino liqueur, green Chartreuse and lime juice, shaken and served straight up. It emerged at the Detroit Athletic Club in the 1910s, shortly before Prohibition. Long forgotten, it enjoyed a powerful revival in the 2000s after its rediscovery by bartender Murray Stenson in Seattle, before entering the International Bartenders Association repertoire.
