Lobster crackers
Lobster crackers are a hinged shell-breaking tool used to crush the claws and legs of crustaceans and free the flesh within. They are set at each cover with a pick or a slender fork that draws the meat from the narrowest cavities. In silver plate on palace tables, they accompany the service of lobster, crab or spiny lobster, frequently completed by a finger bowl provided so guests may clean their fingers between mouthfuls throughout the course.
