Named Vineyard Site
A cadastral place name designating a portion of vineyard named after a landform, a history or a soil feature, without necessarily forming an appellation. In Burgundy the named site may appear on the label to specify a wine's origin within a village or cru. Its mention in a hotel cellar signals to the sommelier the parcel-level precision the estate pursues.
