Silent champagne opening
Silent champagne opening aims to release the bottle with a soft sigh rather than a loud pop, preserving both the effervescence and safety. The sommelier removes the wire cage while gripping the cork firmly, tilts the bottle to roughly forty-five degrees, then turns the bottle rather than the cork. The gas escapes slowly, with no spray or loss of mousse. This discreet gesture is the service standard in prestigious establishments and fine dining rooms.
