Slope Aspect
The orientation of a vineyard parcel relative to the sun, a decisive factor for grape ripening in Burgundy's cool climate. The finest climats of the Côte d'Or face east or southeast, catching the morning light on well-drained slopes. This factor, specific to each climat, partly explains the hierarchy of crus reflected in wine lists.
