Sonoma County
Sonoma County refers to a wine region in California, west of Napa Valley, bordered by the Pacific Ocean. Larger and more diverse than its neighbour, it gathers numerous American Viticultural Areas, from the cool Russian River Valley to the warm inland hills. Pinot noir and chardonnay thrive in the cool coastal zones, notably around Carneros, while zinfandel and cabernet sauvignon distinguish the warmer inland sectors of this varied county.
