Taittinger Family
The Taittinger family, known for its champagne house, also built a hotel empire. Pierre-Charles Taittinger took a stake in the Société du Louvre in 1954, owner of the Hôtel de Crillon on the Place de la Concorde. The Concorde Hotels group was structured in 1973. The holding, including the Crillon and the Martinez in Cannes, was sold in 2005 to Starwood Capital.
