The Peninsula is the palace brand operated by The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, a company founded by the Kadoorie family and controlled by it since the 1890s. Its founding property, The Peninsula Hong Kong, opened on 11 December 1928 with the ambition of being the finest hotel east of Suez. The group cultivates a refined heritage hospitality, famous for its fleet of Rolls-Royce cars and grande dame addresses.
