Two-prong cork puller

The two-prong cork puller, sometimes called the butler's friend, is a device designed to remove old or crumbly corks without piercing them. Its two uneven blades slide down either side of the cork, between the cork and the glass, then a rocking motion combined with a twist draws the cork out whole. This tool prevents a conventional worm from shredding a cork weakened by long years of cellaring, preserving the seal on prized old bottles.
